Sanctuary

One of my favorite hymns recently is Sanctuary. The words by John Thompson and Randy Scruggs are as follows:
Lord, prepare me to be sanctuary, pure and holy, tried and true;
With thanksgiving, I'll be a living sanctuary for You.

I can sing these words over and over each day and get something new from them every time. I have recently been dealing with the part that says "I'll be a living sanctuary for You." Why? Maybe it doesn't hit you like it does me.

You see, the only one who can make me a living sanctuary is Jesus. God cannot look or dwell with sin. It is through His Son Jesus that I am able to come before Him and call Him Father. It is only that I am a living sanctuary for Christ this is possible. I want Him to use me each and every day as much as possible for Him and being a dead sanctuary will not accomplish that!

In Psalm 15:1-2 we read:
Lord, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill?
He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart:

It's Fine Today

When I look around me and see the world is so much disaray, I stop to wonder just what God thinks of us. It seems that everywhere you look or turn someone is trying to take His job!

There are countries trying to decided who should live or die. Even in our country the USA, we have those trying to make laws weather an unborn child could be put to death. And don't get me started on Chrisitans who say one thing and vote the other way.

These are probably the most dangerous people around. They become so glorious and holy on their worship day but during the week they turn their backs on God's principles and teachings. I liken it to a child who covers their ears and pretends they do not hear their parent speaking to them. As long as they "do not hear God" they do not have to obey Him.

So what does this have to do with a Fine Day? Well, I can actually tell you that even when people rain on my day today, tomorrow will always be better. How do I know that? Because each day I learn to walk closer to God, holding the hand of my Savior, Jesus Christ. And when those times come that I am lost for words, I am assured that the Holy Spirit will intervene and pray for me.

That is why IT'S FINE TODAY.
